Benicar is an oral drug used for regulating hypertension (high blood pressure) in people of different age groups (starting from the age of 18). Benicar is available in two pharmacological forms: Benicar proper and Benicar HCT. The latter drug’s active components are olmesartan medoxom which is Benicar itself and hydrochlorothiazide which is a powerful diuretic, or water pill. Benicar is indispensible when there is a need for effective measures to be taken without delays. The drug’s minimal intake period insures that the effect is produced almost instantaneously while both of the active components taken separately take somewhat longer to start performing their medicinal action.
